The EUROREC Institute is a
non-profit, independent organisation, promoting the use of high-quality Electronic Health Records in Europe.
EUROREC's mission is to promote the adoption and extended use of Standardised Electronic
Health Care records. The European
Institute for Health Records represents a permanent network of National Centres and
provides quality and affordable added value services to the European market, Healtcare
providers, Governments and Patients.
The basic aim of the Institute is to promote the use of secure,
interoperable and efficient Health Records, by:
- fostering international co-operation and dissemination of information on
Health Records mainly on a European basis;
- facilitating the dissemination and use of relevant standards, as well as
supporting their design by the appropriate bodies;
- promoting high quality research, education and development in Health
Records;
- informing the users about the current technical and commercial trends and
helping them to have access to the data they need to make well informed
choices;
- strengthening successful implementations and implementers/suppliers of
Health Records systems;
- supporting existing PROREC Centres and initiate new ones.
Eurorec will achieve these goals by:
- disseminating information related to Health Records using whatever means;
- organising of conferences, seminars, workshops, expert meetings, training
activities and other actions and events;
- participating in events organised by third parties sharing the aims of the
Institute;
- publishing an Annual Report on the State of the Art on Health Records;
- establishing and maintaining registers in due relation with national,
European, and international interested bodies.
