Craig Mundie, Microsoft Top 2 Executive, is Chief Research and Strategy Officer of Microsoft Corporation, reporting to CEO Steve Ballmer.
Named to his current position in June 2006, Mundie has assumed responsibility for Microsoft’s research and technology incubation efforts, in anticipation of Chairman Bill Gates’ departure from his day-to-day role in July 2008.
During this exclusive afternoon session, Craig will provide more insight on Microsoft's overall vision on Healthcare. He will also focus on Microsoft’s efforts in research and development leading towards an eHealth platform of the future.
       
Second guest speaker is Ilias Iakovidis, PhD, Deputy Director of the eHealth Unit of the European Commission, Directorate General ‘Information Society’ and responsible for research activities in eHealth and biomedical informatics.

      Ilias Iaokovidis is also working on the follow up of the EU eHealth Action Plan COM (2004) 356 of which he was the main co-author. Beyond the office duties he continues to publish articles and books, teach graduate courses on medical informatics in EU and US, and giving keynote lectures at major international conferences. In 2001 he has been elected fellow of American College of Medical Informatics for his contribution to the field.
